In ancient woods where fairies dwell
Beyond the mist, beyond the dell
A tale of old, the elves still tell
Of King and Dragon, heaven and hell

Through emerald glades and silver streams
Where moonlight dances, starlight gleams
The Dragon came with fire and might
To steal away the children of light
His scales were dark as endless night
His breath consumed the morning bright
The forest wept, the flowers died
As darkness spread both far and wide

But the King, the King will come
With crown of thorns and kingdom won
Through enchanted wood He rides
To break the spell, to turn the tides
The Dragon falls, the forest sings
Hosanna to the King of Kings

The elven folk in fear would hide
No magic spell could turn the tide
The ancient trees bowed down in shame
As Dragon spoke the captives' names
But from the East, a golden light
A rider comes to win the fight
Not with sword of steel or flame
But with a love that breaks the chain

Yes the King, the King has come
With crown of thorns and kingdom won
Through enchanted wood He rides
To break the spell, to turn the tides
The Dragon falls, the forest sings
Hosanna to the King of Kings

And at the crossing of two trees
The King fell to His holy knees
The Dragon struck with all his might
But love is stronger than the night
Three days the forest held its breath
The fairies mourned the King's own death
But on the third, the stone rolled away
And darkness fled at break of day

Now every spring the flowers bloom
Where once the Dragon brought his gloom
The elven children dance and play
In woods redeemed by light of day
And when the twilight softly falls
You'll hear them sing through fairy halls

For the King, the King has won
With crown of light, the battle's done
Through enchanted wood He came
To free us all, to end our shame
The Dragon's gone, creation sings
Hosanna to the King of Kings
Hosanna to the King of Kings

In ancient woods where fairies dwell
The greatest story elves still tell...
